Fifty-one cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed in the past seven days, bringing the total number of cases to 1,610, according to Becky Wolf, Greene County public health director. The seven-day positivity rate is 12.5 percent; the 14-day rate is 12.1 percent. Both rates are down slightly from a week ago. The level of community transmission is HIGH in the CDC’s ranking system.
The vaccination rate among Greene County residents has increased slightly, up to 56.1 percent.
As of Jan 7, 2022, booster (third) doses of Pfizer and Moderna can be given FIVE months after the second dose, based on age:
• Pfizer: 12 years and older
• Moderna: 18 years and older

“If you’ve been exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual, it is important to wait five days after exposure before testing. Testing too early may result in a false negative as your viral load isn’t high enough yet,” Wolf said.
